When school’s out, there’s nothing better than a morning at the movies to keep the kids entertained. Regal Entertainment Group has scheduled nine weeks of family-friendly movies at select theaters. During its Summer Movie Express, selected G- or PG-rated movies show at 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday. There are several participating theaters in the Charlotte area, and their schedule starts June 16. (Also, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Will Rogers Institute.)
This year, the flicks include:
- Week 1: Nut Job, Annie (2014)
- Week 2: Earth to Echo, The Boxtrolls
- Week 3: Paddington, Turbo
- Week 4: Despicable Me, Rio 2, How To Train Your Dragon 2
- Week 5: Mr. Peabody & Sherman, The Book of Life
- Week 6: Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, Penguins of Madagascar
- Week 7: Madagascar 3, Dolphin Tale 2
- Week 8: Muppets Most Wanted, Alexander and the Very Bad Day
- Week 9: The LEGO Movie, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
First-come, first-served seating is limited to theater’s capacity. Tickets are available only at the theater box office on the day of the show. For participating theaters nationwide, click here. There are a bunch in the Charlotte area.
