The Stan Greenspon Holocaust & Social Justice Center at Queens University of Charlotte is presenting Remembering Kristallnacht, 85 Years Later on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 3 p.m. the Sandra Levine Theatre, 2319 Wellesley Avenue, Charlotte. The theatre is in the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement.
November 9th, 2023, marks the 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht, or Night of Broken Glass, during which Jewish people within Nazi German territories were subjected to violent pogroms in which their homes and businesses were destroyed, many Jews were murdered, and 30,000 were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
Kristallnacht marked an escalation of the campaign wipe out European Jews.
The commemoration is presented along with Temple Israel, Temple Beth El, Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte, Jewish Family Services, The Butterfly Project and the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust.
