TreesCharlotte’s goal is to increase the tree canopy in Charlotte. So Arbor Week is a special time for the organization. Here’s some of what’s going on.

TreesCharlotte Talk: Charlotte’s Grand History of Trees

As part of our weeklong celebration of Arbor Day, City of Charlotte arborists and TreesCharlotte staff will talk about Charlotte’s grand history with trees, sharing stories from the early days of some of its most treasured neighborhoods to our innovative approaches to preserving the canopy today.

Beer and Bark: TreesCharlotteFundraiser at Legion Brewing

Here’s a triple treat: Running, craft beer and TreesCharlotte! Legion Brewing and the Elizabeth 8k are hosting a fundraiser just for TreesCharlotte. For every pint purchased from the brewery’s Adventure Tap, $1 goes to TreesCharlotte.
While the Adventure Tap will benefit TreesCharlotte for the entire month of March (so go to Legion all month and pick the beer behind the Adventure Tap label!), tonight we’ll blow it out with drawings for cool swag from TreesCharlotte, Elizabeth 8K and Legion. Throughout the evening, we’ll have a full agenda if you want to do more than sip great beer: The Legiondary Run Club takes off for a 4.4-mile run around Plaza Midwood (burn those beer carbs) at 6:30 p.m. and Music Bingo kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Plus, there just might be a Rooty sighting!
In addition, you’ll be able to register for the Elizabeth 8K, a beautiful race on March 24 that winds through historic Elizabeth. A big thank you to the Elizabeth 8K for picking TreesCharlotte as a beneficiary.
