This is Art. This is Public Health is an art showcase taking place at C3 Labs, 2525 Distribution Street, on Friday, May 5th, 2017, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. It’s free and open to the public.
The This is Art. This is Public Health. Initiative is a partnership between Mecklenburg County Public Health, West Charlotte High School, local artist Bree Stallings, Behailu Academy, and C3 Lab, LLC. Our mission is to engage and empower youth and the community in important public health issues and advocacy through art and creative data visualization.
On May 5, 2017, Mecklenburg County youth will showcase a variety of artwork, ranging from photography to painting, highlighting public health priority areas such as Food Access & Insecurity; Tobacco Prevention & Profiling; and HIV, STDs & Stigma in the gallery space of C3 Lab, LLC from 7pm until 10pm.

The This is Art. This is Public Health. Showcase will feature artwork informed and inspired by the public health work in Mecklenburg County and the lived experiences of the youth and their communities. Spotlighted art pieces include photography of Public Health’s Healthy Corner Store Initiative Murals as well as a plethora of artwork from individual students attending West Charlotte High School, Behailu Academy, and the Mission Possible Youth Group.
The Showcase will be held at and sponsored by C3 Lab, LLC in the gallery space located in Charlotte’s Southend District.
