Looking for something fun and different for your child to try this summer?

The International Capoeira School is offering a big discount on summer camps, as well as on a weekly class.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that includes music, dance, and acrobatics.

Capoeira Summer Camp

During Capoeira Camp your child will learn the fundamental elements of capoeira through games and other activities. This unique martial art can help improve coordination, balance, flexibility, endurance, discipline, and build confidence. With all of the songs and movements in Portuguese, your child will be culturally immersed in Brazilian culture.

The camp is for kids age 4-8.

The camp will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday to Friday at the International Capoeira School located at 2609 Central Ave. The camp will be led by Reba Bowens, who has 10 years of experience studying this martial art including spending time in Brazil. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science from Winthrop University, and is currently in a Masters program at Winthrop University. Last year Reba organized the first capoeira summer camp in Charlotte, and she is excited to lead summer camp again this year.

There are two weeks of camp, from June 18-22 and June 25-29.
