Bin Stores are popping up all over the Charlotte area. Bargain hunters with a sense of adventure love them because sometimes you can find really incredible deals. It’s an adventure because…sometimes you don’t!
Most bin stores sell overstocks and returns from big box stores like Amazon, Walmart and Target. All items are mixed up in bins, and shoppers dig through them, looking for steals.
In general, the way it works is that all items are priced the same. At most stores (look for one exception below) on the day the bins are restocked, the price per items is highest (around $8-$12) and then each subsequent day of the week, the price goes down. So on restocking day, you’re most likely to come home with incredible finds. And on the last day before restocking you’ll find the lowest prices, in some cases, under $1.
In most cases, items are not returnable, so make sure to inspect carefully. Conversely, if the item is in a sealed box, you might not be permitted to open it.
