Bopper’s Shag Club is hosting its next Friday Night Party on Friday, May 12, 2023, starting at 6:30 p.m. It takes place at Mecklenburg Shrine Club, 5200 Mecklenburg Shrine Club Road.
The theme for the May dance is NASCAR or other Favorite Pastime. They’ll go all out for decorating-but you can help this time by bringing a decoration for your table or wearing your “favorite” team/activity shirt.
The cost is $6 for members, $10 for non-members, and $6 for juniors.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be dance workshops from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. in basic shag steps and more advanced steps.
Then there will be a brief meeting at 7:15 p.m., followed by a potluck dinner and dancing at 7:30 p.m.
Music provided by DJ Ron Russ. Dance to your favorite shag, beach, and line dance songs. Everyone is welcome.
Wine, beer, set-ups, water available for minimal charge. BYOB: liquor or wine only, no beer or coolers. Check in bottles at door. $5 cork fee applies.
