Caravan Coffee and Dessert Bar is bringing the 9th Annual Caravan Summer Sizzlin’ event to downtown Belmont on Friday, September 11th, 2015, and Saturday, September 12th. The contestants, who will compete in the categories of ribs, chicken, pulled pork and sauce, will fire up their grills and smokers Friday at 6 p.m. That night there will be live music, as well as a stargazing event presented by the Belmont Astronomy Society. On Saturday, tasting will start at 10 a.m. Besides the judge’s awards there will be a “people’s choice” award, so show up hungry. Tasting is free. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Buddy Love. The Belmont Astronomy Society will be hosting a solar viewing on Saturday. At noon the official judging begins.
The event takes place at Caravan Coffee and Dessert Bar, 7 South Main Street, Belmont.
