Celebrate trees at Oaktoberfest, a free event taking place at Latta Park, 601 East Park Avenue, on Saturday, October 15th, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the Arbor Fair, Charlotte author Maggie Barker will be signing her children’s book about Charlotte’s trees, “Treasure in the City.” The first 25 families get a free copy of the book. Asplundh Tree Experts will be giving a safety demonstration about electrical lines. Heartwood Tree Service will be answering your tree questions. Bartlett Tree Experts will be giving away free seedlings.
Meanwhile, at 11 a.m. Professor Pricklethorn and his Air-Scrubbing Oxygen Factory will be shedding light on photosynthesis. And at 11:30 a.m. 100 cyclists participating in STIHL Tour Des Trees will arrive at Latta Park.
