National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date.

Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.

There are many National Night Out events being held in the Charlotte area.

Charlotte Center City Partners is hosting Center City National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 5 to 8 p.m., at Victoria Yards, 209 E 7th Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.

This is a free event. It includes free food, kids’ activities and more:

Meet and Greet with Law Enforcement: Attendees can meet local police officers, learn about safety programs, and see police vehicles and equipment up close.
Community Resources: Booths and tables set up by local organizations providing information about health, safety, and community services.
Kids’ Activities: Games, face painting, and other activities to keep children entertained.
Food and Refreshments: Food will be provided to all attendees.
Entertainment: Come out and enjoy music by DJ
