If you’ve wondered what that mysterious Olympic sport called “Curling” is all about, here’s a chance to find out. The Charlotte Curling Association invites the public to visit its new dedicated facility at 6525 Old Statesville Road in North Charlotte on Saturday, December 13 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The Grand Opening will begin with the curling tradition of a bagpiper leading guests into the building. Following a brief welcome, visitors are invited to tour the facility, view live curling action, try throwing a curling stone, and sign-up for discounted Learn-to-Curl sessions. Charlotte Curling members will be available to explain the sport’s rules and history and answer questions. There will also be hourly drawings for free Learn-to-Curl opportunities. Boone’s Bar-B-Que Kitchen on Wheels will be parked on-site with food for purchase.
