Here’s a project that should make you feel good about our community. You can read the whole story here, but briefly, Davy Fee, a Boy Scout in Troop 186, has given Charlotte Folk Society’s instrument-lending library new life by finding a home for it, Plaza Presbyterian Church, building and painting shelves, arranging for minor repairs and creating a cataloging system. This lending library will give members of the community a chance to try out an instrument for free. Instrument donations are being accepted.
The Charlotte Folk Society Lending Library Open House will be Saturday, September 13th, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Plaza Presbyterian Church, 2304 The Plaza. There will be music and refreshments and the opportunity to borrow a guitar, banjo, fiddle and more. Deposit and ID required for checkout.
