There’s a desperate need to adopt animals from CMPD Animal Care & Control. All August, adoptions fees have been waived, when donation is made to support shelter programs.
On Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a special “Clear the Shelters” event is taking place at the adoption center, at 8315 Byrum Drive, Charlotte, NC.
Same day adoptions will be available, with the fees waived (with donation.)
In addition, there will be an adoption package:
- Dogs will be up-to-date on all vaccines
- Dogs will be dewormed and will have had a heartworm test
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Microchip, including registration
- Pet license smart tag ($10 fee)
- 4 weeks of free Goodpup virtual dog training
- $100 medical voucher for Animal Medical Hospital
While you’re there, visit the Vendor Village, where you can visit with pet-related businesses. Also, there will be free pet food / goody bags for adopters.
If you have already adopted your best friend, bring your dog by to say hi. The WCNC team will be on hand running a Microchip Checkpoint and a Tag Team Station.
