If you’re looking for a new pet, October is a good month to adopt!
Adopt a Pet will be waiving pet adoption fees at Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Services throughout the month of October, 2023, to encourage adoption this Adopt a Shelter Dog month.
Nearly 20% of shelter pets in North Carolina never find a home, and CMPD just lost several dog kennels temporarily to renovations. This initiative is designed to provide a second chance to as many animals as possible.
To kick off this partnership, Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Services and Adopt a Pet will host a celebratory “For the Love of Pets” event on Saturday, October 14th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event, which is free and open to the public, will give prospective adopters the chance to meet animals and go home with giveaways including new pet parent essentials, swag and more.
For the Love of Pets will take place at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control, 8315 Byrum Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina.
