Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is committed to CMS students having healthy meals each day, even with remote learning. They’ve announced that they’ll be providing Meal Bundles to eligible students starting September 1st, 2020.
Meals during August 17 – 31
The first two weeks of school, meals will be provided at 40 grab-and-go meal sites across the district each weekday. The grab-and-go meal sites will be open 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Each day, students will be provided one free breakfast and one free lunch.
This map shows the grab-and-go meal sites.
Meals starting September 1
Starting September 1st, the process will change, and will be more convenient for families.
Starting September 1st, meal bundles with five breakfasts and five lunches will be available for students.
Meal bundles will be available for pick up at designated meal sites or delivered to students’ bus stops.
Meal bundles are free for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch, or who attend a Community Eligibility Provision School (see list of CEP schools here.)
Students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch can purchase meal bundles for $15 per week.
Students must order the meal bundles through a new or existing PayPAMS account.
Students will be given a group assignment and will be assigned a day of the week based on that assignment. The student does not have to be present for the meal pick-up or delivery, but the person picking up with the meal bundle must provide the student’s name and ID number.

We expect to hear more about the plan soon, and will update with any additional details.
