Join The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture and Levine Museum of the New South at the West Boulevard Branch of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library for a community wellness day inspired by Men of Change: Power. Triumph. Truth. Engage in a series of diverse health-based activities designed for adults, children, and families of all backgrounds and experience levels.
This free event takes place Saturday, February 11th, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the West Boulevard Branch of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, 2157 West Blvd., Charlotte, NC.
This Community Health & Wellness Day will feature our fourth Community of Change conversation. This conversation will create a safe space to highlight needs and resources impacting the mental health of Black men and boys in our community.

Community of Change: Black Men and Mental Health

A retreat-style conversation that positions our guests as the main contributors on self-care and mental health for Black men. Led by mindfulness instructor Mario Jovan and Jarrett Evans, LCMHC, NCC.

YMCA active body and mind session

Body Weight Circuit Training. A no-equipment workout for healthy aging led by Antonio Henry.

Mixed Metaphors workshop for adults and children of all ages
Community Room
Pop in with Miex Metaphors Productions and explore, investigate, and uplift Black mental health through music, spoken word, and our maker station. All Ages are welcome!

- Story times and book talks for kids
- Seeds4Change garden activity
- Community resource tables
This program is a collaboration with the West Boulevard Branch of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and West Boulevard community organizations, including Stratford Richardson YMCA, Seeds 4 Change, and Mixed Metaphors.
