Both Mint Museum locations are free every Wednesday after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25th, 2015, from 6:30 p.m. ti 8:00 p.m., Mint Museum Uptown is hosting a special event, Conversation: Selma in Retrospect, to examine the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights marches in Selma, Alabama. Prior to the event, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., visitors can register to vote. The program includes the curator’s presentation of “Selma,” by Barbara Penington, an oration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Alabama speech, Negro spirituals by a vocalist and choir and artists’ responses to the “Selma” painting.
