Mending Wings, a Native American youth group from Washington, is offering a free performance of “Dancing Our Prayers” at Avondale Presbyterian Church, 2821 Park Road, Charlotte. The performance will take place Sunday, March 6th, 2022, at 10 a.m.
In full regalia, the Mending Wings youth group will drum and dance, perform drama, give testimony, and speak on conciliation issues between Native and non-Native America.
The performance of “Dancing Our Prayers” is open to all and offers a unique opportunity to learn about indigenous people in an engaging way. The youth travel the country with the goal of sharing their culture, spirituality, and way of life with others.
This is a free, family-friendly event for all ages.
After the the service, Avondale is hosting a Congregational Meal, a fried chicken meal with sides and dessert.
