Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont, is now offering $1 admission per person to families that participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP.)
Up to six members of the household can pay just $1 each for regular daytime admission.
The program is being operated under the auspices of a nationwide program known as Museums for All, an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Museums For All includes more than 300 cultural institutions that offer free or reduced admission to people in the SNAP program. Participants simply show their EBT (or Food Stamp Card) to receive the benefit. Then they pay using cash or other accepted forms of payment.
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is the second Charlotte area attraction to join this program. Discovery Place (including Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature and Discovery Place kids) also offers $1 admission to those who show an EBT or WIC card at admission (up to six family members.)
Stowe Botanical Garden is 110 acres of gardens, including:
- Children’s garden
- Conservatory dedicated to the display of tropical plants and orchids
- Dry Piedmont Prairie
- Annual and perennial displays
- Sparkling fountains
- Walking trails
