Discovery Place Kids–Huntersville, 105 Gilead Road, Huntersville, will be celebrating New Year’s Eve a little early on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024.
Noon Year’s Eve takes place from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., with learning and festive activities to welcome 2025. This family-friendly event features hands-on crafts, engaging science demonstrations and exciting storytimes leading up to a memorable countdown and balloon drop at noon.
Tickets are $18 per person. Children under 1 year old are admitted for free.
If you receive EBT or WIC benefits, admission is $5. You’ll need to show proof of eligibility.

Morning Festivities:
- 9:45 a.m. | Storytime: Shante Keys and the New Year’s Peas
- 10:15 a.m. | Demo 1: Science of Ice
- 10:30 a.m. | Bingo on the Lawn: Join the fun and win prizes!
- 11:15 a.m. | Science Show: Blizzard in a Bottle
- 11:55 a.m. – 12:01 p.m. | Balloon Drop & Toast: Celebrate the “Noon Year” with a countdown, a sparkling toast and a dazzling balloon drop!
Afternoon Fun:
- 12:05 p.m. | Big Fun: High-energy activities to keep the party going
- 1:00 p.m. | Demo 2: Sneezy the Snowman book reading and Fruit Snowman demo
- 2:30 p.m. | Science Show: Ice Fishing
- 3:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Big Fun: Wrap up the day with more high-energy fun
All-Day Activities:
- Create Firework Rings
- Create New Year’s Wands
- Create New Year’s Hats
- Create Ornament for the Wishing Tree to bring in the new year
