The Town of Waxhaw is holding its first-ever drive-in concert on Friday, September 25th, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Forest Hill Church, 8120 Kensington Drive, Waxhaw (across from Harris Teeter.)
The performer is Alex Key, a 24-year-old rising country singer and Nashville recording artist based out of North Carolina.
He performs all over with his band under the title “Alex Key and The Locksmiths.” Alex’s music sticks to the country genre with a strong classic influence.
The cost is only $10 per carload for rows A-D, and just $5 per carload for rows I-J.

Load-In time for the drive-in concert begins at 5:30 PM. Please check-in with event staff. Must be in location by 6:30 PM and remain in space for concert duration. There will be no early exits.
Pre-registration online is required at https://waxhaw.recdesk.com. We have the capacity for 50 cars at the $10 level and 45 cars at the $5 level.
Please keep in mind that all concert-goers must follow the following guidelines:
- Concert-goers must pre-register through Waxhaw Parks & Recreation RecDesk at https://waxhaw.recdesk.com to be assigned a drive-in/tailgating space. No on-site registration.
- Cost is $10 per carload for rows A-D and $5 per carload for rows E-J (see map).
- Load-In Time begins 5:30 PM. Please check-in with the event staff.
- Must be in location by 6:30 PM and remain in space for concert duration. No early exits.
- The concert will be live and may also be heard on your vehicle’s FM radio.
- Each space consists of 2 parking spaces.
- When in their space, concert-goers are not required to wear a mask.
- If concert-goers leave their space for any reason (concessions/restrooms) a mask or face-covering is required and 6 ft. social distancing must be maintained.
- Concessions and portable restrooms will be available on-site and sanitized multiple times per evening.
- Adequate hand sanitizing stations and portable washing units will be available.
- Concert-goers should not visit other concert-goers’ spaces.
Sitting in truck bed or lawn chairs by the vehicle is allowed. - If you have a larger vehicle or a vehicle with large tires, please consider back rows so as not to obstruct views for other concert-goers.
- Large canopy umbrellas or tents are not allowed for others’ visibility.
- Portable coolers allowed; however, alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
This event is being put on in partnership with the Forest Hill Church Waxhaw Campus. Please be respectful of the space and clean up your parking/viewing area upon exit.
