The easiest and most economical way to experience North Carolina wine country this winter is via the Yadkin Valley Winter Wine Passport program.
Created by the Surry Wineries association, these passports provide a wine tasting at each of 11 participating wineries. There are also three food & wine pairing events available to passport holders, as well as discounts on hotels, restaurants, and shops throughout in the Yadkin Valley.
And there is ample time available to visit all wineries because the program runs from late November all the way through March 29. Participating wineries are: Adagio Vineyards, Brushy Mountain, Carolina Heritage, Elkin Creek, Grassy Creek, Herrera Vineyards, Olde Mill, Round Peak, Scull Camp, Slightly Askew and Stony Knoll.
The passports cost $55 for an individual or $85 for couple.
“One thing we like to stress about these passports is they are an extremely good value for our customers,” says Louis Jeroslow, winemaker at Elkin Creek Vineyards in Elkin. “Especially the couples passport, which provides 22 wine tastings, plus all the other benefits, for just $85.”
Most people have heard about the incredible growth of the wine industry in the Yadkin Valley, and this wine passport program allows them to see it for themselves.
