The open air market that had been at the old Eastland Mall site for years (the Charlotte Open Air Market or Central Flea Market), before being displaced in 2021, has found a new home, thanks to a partnership between the public and private sectors in Charlotte.
Now officially called El Mercadito, it is at 1720 Galleria Boulevard, in East Charlotte, right off of Monroe Road, near Sardis Road and Independence Boulevard.
It will be open every Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission and parking are free.
You can expect over 100 vendors, live music and food trucks. The market has always had a rich multicultural atmosphere, with just about any item you could hope to purchase — jewelry, funnel cakes, vegetables, shoes, plants and much more.
