Free Comic Book Day is back on Saturday, May 3, 2025! On Free Comic Book Day, participating stores give away free comic books to guests, and some host additional activities, like sketches from artists, and more. Libraries also participate.
Below is a list of stores and libraries in the Charlotte area that are participating in Free Comic Book Day. For questions about what they’ll have going on, or their hours, please contact the store directly. To find more participating stores, you can search here.
Also, it might not be directly participating in Comic Book Day, but Cabarrus Brewing Co., 329 McGill Avenue NW, Concord, NC, is hosting the 9th Annual Concord Micro-Con on May 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to the free comic books, Hickory Grove Library is offering additional activities, including Hulk-themed slime (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.), face painting (12 to 2 p.m.), cookie creations (2 to 3 p.m.), and Sip & Paint (3 to 4 p.m.) Follow each link for more details on the activity, and for registration if required.
