There will be a free screening of the film “Chairman Jones: An Improbable Leader” at Johnson C. Smith University, on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018, at 6 p.m.
There will be a post-show dialogue moderated by WBTV Reporter Steve Crump. This historical documentary film details the visionary leadership of James Henry Jones who became a trailblazer during the 1969 desegregation crisis in Northampton County. His journey from sharecropper to North Carolina’s first black school board chairman inspires audiences and offers lessons for today, if we are willing to listen.
The screening takes place at the New Science Center, 100 Beatties Ford Road, at JCSU.
