Learn about the 1846 Mexican American War at the President James K. Polk Historic Site through a living history event, 1846 Mexican American War Militia Muster, on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event will explore the life of a common citizen who was called into service. Living History re-enactors will be drilling, demonstrating domestic lifestyles and speaking with visitors about what life was like in Mecklenburg County in 1846.
