
Mint Museum Randolph, at 2730 Randolph Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, regularly offers free art kits, which are related to one of the museum’s exhibits or pieces of art. In general, the art kits are available for a four-day period, most months.
The art kits are for all ages.
During the days that the art kits are offered, you can pick them up during any of the museum’s hours, while supplies last.
- Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Thursday through Saturday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also, on Wednesdays, the museum is free to visit from 5 to 9 p.m., and there is a free drop-in art activity from 5 to 8 p.m.
The art kits are supported by Mint Museum Auxiliary.
Free Art Kits in March: Guitar Collage

Available Wednesday, March 5, to Saturday, March 8, 2025.
This month, create a guitar collage inspired by the art of Romare Bearden. Play with improvisation and learn about the Charlotte-born artist’s love of music.
Free Art Kits in April: Stitching Sampler
Available Wednesday, April 2, to Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Visit Mint Museum Randolph to pick up a free all-ages project to create at home. This month, learn basic sewing stitches and use yarn, yarn needle, and burlap to create a sampler. In honor of Earth Day, learn about how past generations upcycled worn material into beautiful new creations!
