Monroe Road Advocates (MoRa) is working to create a 16 foot tall sculpture and the public can participate in FREE collaborative art workshops to help create it.
Here’s information on the project. Scroll down to see how to participate, for free.
Art@thePoint is a 16′ tall art sculpture to be sited on the point of land where Conference Drive and Monroe Road converge in Charlotte, NC. The centerpiece of MoRA’s new open and accessible community gathering spot, this sculpture will be an iconic identifier for the Monroe Road corridor.
Art@thePoint will include hands-on collaboration. During public workshops, community members — you — will be able to participate in the design and creation of the mosaics that embellish the sculpture.
Art@thePoint will invite interaction, draw people to the space, and reflect our creativity, progress and collaboration. It will bring a grounding sense of pride to our rapidly transforming area of Charlotte.
The workshops take place at former construction office for Meridian Place at 6423 Monroe Road (across from Knickerbocker).
