Charlotte Blues Society presents a blues show the first Sunday of every month. Normally it will be $5 per person for admission, free for members of Charlotte Blues Society. But for the first one, March 5th, it will be free for everyone.
You might have seen the shows in the past at Double Door Inn, but with its recent closing, they’ve moved to The Rabbit Hole, in Plaza Midwood, 1801 Commonwealth Avenue.
Each Blues Sunday, the doors will open at 7 p.m., a band will play at 8 p.m., and then jams will start at 10 p.m.
On Sunday, March 5th, 2017 the band is The Bill Miller Band.
The Bill Miller Band, 2012 Quarter Finalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and 2013 Charlotte Music Awards Blues Showcase Winner is sure to get you moving to their high-powered, contemporary interpretation of vintage blues.
Father and Son share vocals with Bill III on guitar and Bill jr. on harmonica. Randall Cowles holds down the bottom while Stuart Sullivan provides the beat.
They’ve been exciting southeastern U. S. audiences with high energy shows since 2006. The recipe for their sound is a mix of Chicago and Texas, rock and funk, delivered with a tremendous amount of their own passion and drive.
“Their music is solid and powerful, dynamic and subtle – a lot of variety for your ears” Charlotte Blues Society

The Bill Miller Band will blow you away whether you’ve seen them previously or not. And plan on sticking around for the blues jam that follows as the Charlotte area has an an abundance of amazing musicians…you’ll want to join the CBS to Keep the Blues Alive in Charlotte. Always a great band and a good time as we meet the 1st Sunday of every month (except July 4th weekend) for free once you’re a member…

How do I go about getting email notifications every month about these?
Rick says
Jim, when you join the CBS, you’ll be on the email list for the monthly Blues Blast and Bluesletters. In the meantime, just mark your calendar for the 1st Sunday of each month. See you April 3rd when The Instigators take the stage at the Rabbit Hole and you can join then or prior online.
