Celebrate National Women’s History Month with a riveting program by award-winning author, storyteller, and Road Scholar Randell Jones. North Carolina has been home to many notable women who have made their mark on history. This program will draw audiences into extraordinary and fascinating tales about some of these women, including a child bride, a Confederate soldier, a pirate, and a pioneering parachutist. Jones has authored several books on North Carolina history including “Before They Were Heroes at King’s Mountain,” “In the Footsteps of Daniel Boone,” “In the Footsteps of Davy Crockett,” and “A Guide to the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail.” He recently received the Daughters of the American Revolution’s national History Award Medal in recognition of his body of work. ***This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.***
