Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive, is presenting Chinese Culture Fun Day on Saturday, December 12th, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Make Chinese paper lantern crafts and do water color painting at this celebration of Chinese art and culture. The event will also feature Warren (Weixiong) Zhong, President of the Overseas Chinese Culture Athletic and Arts Federation, who will present on Chinese art and culture in Charlotte. There’s a new exhibit on Chinese culture and arts at Charlotte Museum of History that opened in November, “Enter The Dragon: A Contemporary Chinese and Chinese American Art Exhibit.”
Overseas Chinese Culture Athletic and Arts Federation and the Charlotte Museum of History have partnered to bring prominent contemporary Chinese and Chinese American Artists to display their work at the museum. The exhibition name, “Enter The Dragon,” reflects the importance of the dragon as one of the most iconic cultural symbols of Chinese Culture. The exhibition is intended to immerse the audience into a unique and brilliant arts experience and help foster a more diverse arts scene for our region.
A Charlotte Chinese American history in photo exhibition is included and will tell the life and stories about Charlotte Chinese American during the last 100 years.
Charlotte Chinese American’s fingerprints range from delicious food, sites of worship, language school, breakthrough in science and technology, prominent figure in banking and other business. The lives and stories of Charlotte Chinese American in the last 100 years will be told in a series of vivid photographs.
