- 1 – 2 p.m. Lecture with Gwen Chanzit, curator of Women of Abstract Expressionism, will discuss the contributions of female artists to this mid-twentieth-century art movement that until now has been “all about the men”. She will let you in on what’s so important about this groundbreaking exhibition—the first presentation of works by these artists together at one time.
- 3 – 4 p.m. Lecture with Annie Carlano, Senior Curator of CDF, will provide an overview of the history of women glass artists through a presentation in the auditorium. Following this brief introduction, she will lead a gallery tour of Fired Up: Contemporary Glass by Women Artists from the Toledo Museum of Art, focusing on the five themes of the exhibition: abstraction, the human form, the built environment, the vessel, and nature. Ten top masterworks will be highlighted.
