For the first time in a dozen years, Charlotte Symphony is performing Uptown in an outdoor concert. On Saturday, June 14th, Summer Pops in Romare Bearden Park will feature “Music of the Movies,” including songs from classic films, starting at 8:00 p.m. The evening is free and appropriate for all ages. The music will be followed by an outdoor screening of “Star Trek: Into Darkness.” Starting at 5 p.m. Chow Down Uptown food truck rally begins. You’ll have the chance to enjoy dinner from a variety of food trucks. The orchestra will be conducted by 29-year-old Roger Kalia, who joined the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra this season as Assistant Conductor. Romare Bearden Park is at 300 South Church Street.
