On Saturday, May 9th at 3:30 p.m. in Tyler-Tallman Hall of Davidson College’s Sloan Music Building, Classical Public Radio 89.9 WDAV will be hosting a free concert as the final round of its Young Chamber Musicians Competition.
Four of the top youth chamber ensembles from across the country perform for an audience and panel of judges in a FREE concert. Now in its second year, the Young Chamber Musicians Competition (YCMC), organized by 89.9 WDAV – Charlotte’s classical public radio station – and sponsored by OrthoCarolina, awards $4,500 in prizes to the winners. YCMC presents a unique twist to the standard classical music competition as points earned from an online public vote are combined with juror scores at the live competition. Audience members are invited to mingle and meet the musicians at a post-competition reception immediately following the concert. The concert is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Call the Davidson College Ticket Office at 704-894-2135 to secure your tickets or get them at the door. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
