Students ages 7-10 are welcomed to audition for Reach, Charlotte Ballet’s nationally recognized need-based dance scholarship program. Reach makes beginning-level, quality dance training accessible to students who demonstrate a natural talent for movement and the potential to be trained in dance.
The program affords children the opportunity to access quality dance training in their neighborhoods free of charge, promoting self-esteem, discipline, a strong work ethic, and an appreciation for the arts. Please register in advance. Contact emanion@charotteballet.org with any questions.
The last audition takes place Monday, August 14, 2023, at 5 p.m., at Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance, 701 S Tryon Street, Charlotte.

LaRonda Rose says
Hey, just wanted to know what type of dance do they need to do for the audition? Does it have to be ballet or can it be another form of dance?
Katelyn Pounds says
Hello Ms. Rose,
Your student does not need any prior dance training to audition for the Reach program. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement such as shorts, sweat pants and t-shirts.
The audition will be taught by a Charlotte Ballet Professional Teaching Artist using the Charlotte Ballet Academy’s Ballet 1 Curriculum. Please contact Katelyn Pounds at kpounds@charlotteballet.org with any further questions.
