Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is putting on a production of “Go, Dog. Go!” from April 7th, 2017, to April 23rd. Buy tickets now.
Special note: There will be a sensory-friendly performance on April 15th and an ASL interpreted performance on April 22nd.
The beloved children’s book by P.D. Eastman comes to life in a zany, Vaudeville-inspired adventure. These dogs are busy going to and fro, riding scooters, driving cars and zooming around the world on their way to a special party. This madcap, musical escapade will have little ones dancing in their seats and cheering “Go, Dog. Go!”
If you’ve read this book out loud once or twice or a thousand times, you know that the story culminates in a dog party, the best party ever, the party that sets the standard for all future parties.
Some of the things that make this party the ideal party:
- It takes place in a tree
- A dog is being shot out of a cannon
- Big slices of cake with pink frosting
- The introverted, red dog reading a book in the middle of the party
- The dogs that have buried themselves in the leaves of the tree, especially the one eating an ice cream cone
- The one dog opening all the presents
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is teaming up with Google Fiber to put on a dog party. Do not expect it to take place in a tree, or to necessarily include any of the elements described above, but it will be a fun, free, family-friendly event that celebrates our best friends, dogs.
Bring your dog to the party. If you don’t have a dog yet, or if you need another dog to complete your life, there will be adoption organizations to help solve your problem.
It takes place Saturday, April 8th, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’ll be at The Google Fiber Space, 301 East 7th Street, and in front of ImaginOn, 300 East 7th Street.
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte and Google Fiber have confirmed a trio of adoption organizations to attend: the Charlotte Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the American Pitbull Foundation and South Charlotte Dog Rescue.
This pawty also features nearly a dozen vendors, including Pet Wants CLT – Urban Feed Store, Quarterback K9 Training, special dog photographers, The Dog Salon, the Spay and Neuter Clinic of Charlotte, Woof Gang Bakery, the Barker Lounge and more.
