
Charlotte middle and high school students: want to fly a drone? Federal rules say you’ve got to pass the FAA’s TRUST test first.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., middle school and high school students, and their parents, are invited to a FREE drone training session at CMPD PAL Campus, 1330 Spring Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
At this event, you’ll will:
- Receive hands‑on prep for the TRUST certification (you’ll finish with your official certificate in hand)
- Get pro tips on drone rules, reading airspace charts, & weather safety
- Meet licensed pilots from Drone Charlotte—see their drones fly & hear how this hobby can turn into a career
- Receive FREE NCDOT airspace charts to take home
Everyone who completes the training will be entered to win a free drone.
After the training, enjoy a FREE cookout and a drone demo.
This event is hosted by Sullenberger Aviation Museum, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and DroneScape.
