If you’re an essential worker — whether a nurse, grocery worker, doctor, delivery worker, sanitation worker, or any other essential worker — who is wearing a mask, you are eligible for free Ear Savers from Glowforge and Glowforge makers.
Ear Savers go behind your head and hold the loops of your mask, so that they’re not pulling on your ears all day. They take the pressure and friction off your ears, making masks more comfortable and reducing the risk of damage to the ears and face.
In addition, if the mask isn’t the right size, it makes the sizing more flexible.
Glowforge is a maker of 3D laser printers. They have a design that makers can use to create Ear Savers on acrylic.
Glowforge is making thousands of Ear Savers, and individual makers have gotten to work creating them too, which they’re delivering to essential workers.
If you’re an essential worker, fill out this form, on which you can say how many you need. If you need more than 5,000, email earsavers@glowforge.com.
If you have a Glowforge or other 3D laser printer, fill out this form to let Glowforge know what you can do.
When you fill out the form, Glowforge will match you with someone who needs Ear Savers and introduce you via email. You’ll create the Ear Savers with 1/8 inch (3mm) acrylic, which you’ll provide, and the design from Glowforge, and you’ll get them to person who you’re matched with.
