Join the United States Marine Corps in Uptown Charlotte this September for a celebration of Community, Country and Corps.
From Wednesday, September 5th, to Sunday, September 9th, 2018, Marine Week Charlotte will feature hands-on displays, live demonstrations, time-honored Marine Corps traditions, musical performances and other events to showcase the history, military capabilities and community involvement of the Corps.
Free events take place at various locations in Uptown Charlotte (as well as Charlotte Motor Speedway) during Marine Week. These are the addresses of the venues:

Reveille:
Join us each morning as a bugler sounds the start the day.
Static Displays at First Ward Park:
Tanks, trucks, aircraft and more! Come see Marine Corps equipment up close and personal, or better yet, climb aboard!
Physical Fitness with the Marines:
Work out with the Marines! Come get a taste of Marine Corps physical training. Exercises will be self-paced and can be modified.
Please bring your own water.
Morning Colors:
Flag-raising ceremony.
Wreath-laying ceremony:
Each day the Marines will honor local families of fallen service members.
Vietnam Traveling Wall:
Join us at the Wall to honor the great sacrifices of the Vietnam War. The memorial is a replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC.
Opening Ceremony:
The Marines have landed! Witness the official kick-off ceremony for Marine Week Charlotte. You will get a chance to meet the Marines and see a special performance by the Silent Drill Platoon and Marine Corps Band!
Evening Colors:
Flag-lowering ceremony.
Taps:
A bugler will play tags each day at dusk.
ImaginOn Puppet Show:
The Marines will present a puppet show exploring the history of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Vietnam Vets Pinning Ceremony:
Watch as present-day veterans honor the past. Marines will honor Vietnam Veterans in this special pinning ceremony.
Pre-Marine Air-Ground Task Force Show:
Pre-MAGTF concert, which will consist of a Marine Band, military working dogs, Martial Arts, and Silent Drill Platoon.
Marine Air-Ground Task Force Demo:
Live demonstration of Marine aircraft and ground equipment. You can expect to see helicopters, assault vehicles, and Marine infantry during this simulation.
Marine Lacrosse Clinic:
Marines will conduct a youth lacrosse clinic.
USMC/USA Wrestling Clinic:
USA Wrestling and the Marine Wrestling team will host a youth wrestling clinic. For more information, visit the USA Wrestling website.
Mural Unveiling Ceremony:
Come get a first look at a special mural created in honor of Marine Week Charlotte. Throughout the week, local artists and service members designed and painted this amazing work of art.
Marine vs. First Responders Basketball Game:
Come watch the Marines take on the Charlotte Fire Department in an exhibition basketball game. The famous Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon will perform at halftime.
9/11 Ceremony:
A Remembrance ceremony that incorporates a reading of the timeline of the events on 9/11, speakers, a 21-gun salute, & a wreath laying.
Parade:
To conclude Marine Week events, a parade will be held at the intersection of Trade/Tryon. It will consist of assets including the Color Guard, Marine Band, Uniform Pageant, and Silent Drill Platoon.
Closing Ceremony/Old Glory Sequence:
After the parade, a closing ceremony will be held in front of the reviewing stand. The ceremony will consist of the Marines uniform pageant conducting “Old Glory” by passing the American flag from Marine to Marine and delivering to a former Marine from the city.
Marine Week at First Ward Park
Check out the static displays at First Ward Park. Try a flight simulator, climb into a tank or helicopter, and more. These will be up all week.
