Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation has teamed up with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools to provide a fun, free activity for kids this summer.
“Safe Play Days and Meals” takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Firestone Park, 3501 Firestone Drive, in North Charlotte, near Sunset Road and Beatties Ford Road.
Park and Recreation and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools staff will be at the park, organizing fun games and exercise opportunities.
The CMS food truck arrives at 10:30 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome and it’s free to play and to eat.
“Safe Play Days and Meals” will end on Thursday, August 10th.
Anyone with questions can contact Charles Young at Charles.Young3@mecklenburgcountync.gov or 980-314-1120.
Also, a reminder that all children age 1-18 are eligible for free breakfast and lunch this summer, through a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Find a meal location near you.
