Mint Museum Uptown will host a free lecture by Mikyoung Kim on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. Mikyoung Kim is an internationally renowned landscape architect and artist whose work focuses on merging sculptural vision with the urban landscape. Mikyoung Kim Design is currently designing art to be integrated at the UNC Charlotte station of the new CATS Blue Line light rail extension, scheduled to open in 2017. She has received awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Institute of Architects. Her work is also featured in Architectural Record, the New York Times, and Dwell Magazine.
The event is co-sponsored by Charlotte Area Transit System and will include light refreshments and a cash bar after the program. You can pre-register by calling 704-337-2000 or by following this link, but Mint Museum also says that seating is first-come, first-served, so arrive early.
Also, both Mint Museum locations offer free admission every Wednesday evening after 5:00 p.m., so if you arrive early you’ll have a chance to explore the museum.
