Fort Dobbs, at 438 Ft. Dobbs Road in Statesville, focuses on the French and Indian War (1754-1763) and is free to visit. On Saturday, February 27th, 2016, and Sunday, February 28th, Fort Dobbs will mark the 256th anniversary of the attack on Fort Dobbs. The event is free but donations are accepted.
Re-enactors representing the provincial garrison and Cherokee warriors will offer on-going interpretation of 18th Century camp life, as well as featured musket and cannon firing demonstrations. Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
On Saturday at 6:30 p.m. there will be a firing demonstration.
