Alzheimer’s and Difficult Behaviors: What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do
If you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia, you know the disease can bring challenging changes in behavior. People with Alzheimer’s can become aggressive with little or no warning. They may be suspicious or agitated. They might scream in public. They may be hard to control.
In this free workshop from The Ivey Memory Wellness Day Center especially for family caregivers, learn how to manage these difficult behaviors from an expert in the field.
Dr. Jonathan McKinsey is chairman of the Department of Psychiatry for Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast. He’ll provide specific strategies for responding to a variety of difficult behaviors. You’ll learn how certain behaviors can be triggered by medicine interactions, infections, and environmental factors. You’ll also find out when it’s time to contact medical professionals for further assessment and help.
RSVP requested at 704-909-2070. Care is available for loved ones during the presentation with advance notice. Please call The Ivey to arrange at 704-909-2070.
