Every Wednesday evening admission to both Mint Museum locations is free. Often special events take place on Wednesday evenings as well. Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016, at 6 p.m., at Mint Museum Uptown, visiting designer Jens Praet will deliver an artist talk. It’s free to all. The talk will go from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a reception.
Known for his distinctive furniture and object designs of shredded paper and resin, Belgian designer Jens Praet will discuss his work, inspirations and new directions. Combining craft, design, and performance, he has been featured in international art fairs such as Design Miami/Art Basel, among others. Praet’s Shredded Side Table is in the Mint’s collection of Craft and Design, and is currently on view.
