One sport you might not know much about is curling. You might have seen it in the Olympics. In curling, teams slide stones across a sheet of ice toward targets. It’s a sport that requires a great deal of strategy and teamwork. The Queen City has its own facility, Charlotte Curling, at 6525 Old Statesville Road.
On Friday, September 18th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Charlotte Curling is hosting the city’s first ever wheelchair curling event. It’s free to attend and there’s even a warm room to watch from. The exhibition game will feature Steve Brown, the US Paralympic Team Coach, and Patrick McDonald, Skip of the 2014 US Paralympic Team.
