On Saturday, May 10th, 2014, kids age 9-14 are invited to Hershey’s Track and Field Games at the Bailey Road Track, 11536 Bailey Road in Cornelius. This is a free event. Checkin starts at 9 a.m. and the competitions start at 9:30 a.m. The events include sprints, longer races, relays, long jump and softball throwing. Here’s more info: Cornelius PARC, Davidson Parks and Recreation and Huntersville Parks and Recreation are teaming up to bring the Hershey’s Track and Field Games program to the Lake Norman area again this year. This nationally affiliated program is designed to introduce children between the ages of nine and fourteen to physical fitness. Age division is determined by each participant’s age on December 31, 2014. Winners in each division will have the opportunity to move onto sectional and possibly national competition levels.
