Seeds on 36th, at 200 East 36th Street, is a gardening shop in NoDa that carries everything you need to start a garden in a small space–both dirt-based gardening and hydroponic gardening. In addition, they can set you up with aquaponics, a symbiotic system where you raise vegetables and fish together.
Seeds on 36th supports 100 Gardens, a Charlotte based non-profit organization that teaches agriculture and aquaponics in local schools, correctional institutions and also in Haiti.

Learn the basics of how to grow your own fish and vegetables at home with an aquaponics garden.
Aquaponics is a recirculating system that grows freshwater fish and vegetables together in one system. The fish fertilize the plants, and the plants clean the water for the fish! It is a ton of fun and you get to grow high quality food with no weeding or watering.
This two-hour class will teach you the basics of aquaponic gardening as well as show you several different systems so you can see aquaponics in action! Here is what will be covered:
