Matthews Athletic Recreation Association is hosting Get Outside & Play Day on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Arthur Goodman Park, 1200 S Trade Street, Matthews, North Carolina.
This free event is all about promoting youth sports, outdoor fun, and healthy habits.
Kids will have the chance to explore a variety of sports, make new friends, and discover the joy of staying active. Whether throwing a football, swinging a bat, or simply running free, this day celebrates the power of play to build confidence, foster connections, and inspire a lifelong love of movement.
- 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.:Sensory Friendly Activities and opportunities to learn more about our exceptional need programs
- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Get Outside and Play: Community-Wide
Celebrate Get Outside and Play Day at MARA with a fun-filled day designed for kids of all ages—from preschoolers to high schoolers. This community-wide event offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the wide range of sports and camps MARA has to offer.
Young athletes can:
- Discover new sports: Get hands-on experience and learn about the various sports programs available at
MARA includes flag football, track and field, baseball, softball, speed and conditioning, cheer, and tackle football - Sharpen their skills: Seasoned student-athletes can shake off the rust and prepare for upcoming assessments.
- Connect with the community: Enjoy a day of play while meeting other families and learning more about MARA’s athletic offerings.
