Today, Saturday, November 5th, David Byrne, of Talking Heads fame, is leading a 10K “get out the vote” bike ride. Riding bikes with David Byrne is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The rally begins at 9 a.m. at Common Market, 2007 Commonwealth Avenue. Departure is set for 9:30 a.m.
The route won’t take you to the river but it’s far from a road to nowhere. The ride will include stops at the Spoke Easy bike shop, the statue of Captain Jack on the Greenway, the Hal Marshall Annex, and it ends at noon at the Midwood Culture Center. The final two stops are polling places.
David Byrne is an avid bicyclist and the author of the book “The Bicycle Diaries,” in which he documents his experiences bicycling in cities like Berlin, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, San Francisco, Manila and New York.
Today is the last day of early voting. If things seem like they’ve stopped making sense, go vote.
