Goodwill store in Shelby moves to new location - learn about the sale, prizes and freebies

Goodwill of the Southern Piedmont is moving the Shelby store from 445 Earl Road, Shelby, to 1005 East Dixon Blvd, Shelby.

The new location will be one of the largest Goodwill stores in the country. It will be in the building of a former Lidl store.

Some new features include:

A Café in partnership with a local business
A rentable community room
An entire electronics and gaming section, hosted by Goodwill’s tech store, The GRID.

There will be a sale at the old location, until it closes for good, and some special grand opening events at the new location.

Moving Sale

The moving sale will take place at the old location, 445 Earl Road. Through August 23rd, 2022, everything will be 50% off.

The Grand Opening event at 1005 East Dixon Blvd will take place Friday, August 26th, 2022, starting at 10 a.m.

Here’s what’s going on:

The first 100 shoppers will receive a free reusable tote bag
The first people waiting in line will receive coffee and donuts
King of Pops will be on site 11 a.m. to 1 p.m
Spin a prize wheel to win a free King of Pops popsicle and other prizes and giveaways
Throughout the grand opening day, there will be “golden ticket” gift cards, ranging from $5 to $20, for people to find in the store and use when they want.
